Hospice
When a loved one faces a terminal illness and the focus shifts from cure to comfort, hospice care provides compassionate medical, emotional, and spiritual support during end-of-life. You may need these services when aggressive treatment is no longer beneficial, when your loved one’s doctor estimates six months or less of life expectancy, or when the goal becomes managing pain and maintaining dignity rather than pursuing curative treatments.
Hospice is specialized care provided by teams of doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers who focus on comfort, symptom management, and quality of life. Care can be provided at home, in hospice facilities, nursing homes, or hospitals, depending on family preferences and needs.
Services include pain and symptom management, emotional and spiritual support for patients and families, help with daily care tasks, respite care for family caregivers, and bereavement counseling after loss.
